I agree the markdown had a bit of a learning curve, but even now after not using it for anything official after the How To Guide, I still use it for Notion. It has been fun to see the ways that it can be used, and how common it actually is. I like that you mention the origins of markdown, because, yes, it really does show how much it can do to have regular people in charge of creation. When we aren’t bound by financial incentive, humans can become so incredibly creative, and that is such a clear example of that.

It was definitely scary at first, and I had no clue about coding, but the end product was pretty nice. I enjoyed using markdown, well, when I had to. The fact that the creator did this for free, hoping to better the world, is quite admirable. Unfortunately, everything that is created these days is strictly for profit. Makes me think that if markdown had come out today, what would his decision be now?
