But, I do think it’s beneficial to view the SIFT method as “moving up” a meter when it comes to leaving rudimentary internet skills behind.

Your intro is also very strong and immediately pulled my attention in. The more readings I do for this class the more I see an intersection with theory and the use of technology. I often apply more of a gendered lens when reading, so it was nice to see the use of a philosophical lens!

It brings a new perspective that I hadn’t really thought about in the land of credibility, but I also enjoy your term “bullshit meter” which I think is incredibly accurate to how people really process and filter through news. I know that I do that probably more often than I realize. Some people (myself included) can really just choose the path of least resistance or least work and the bullshit meter is a great way around it, but I agree it is not extremely reliable and there is a lot more safety and reassurance in taking the full SIFT method as mentioned in “Verified”
